Common Use Management Division

To promote the use of shared equipment and technical services, the division is working to create a user-friendly environment. The following efforts are being made to ensure that these can be used not only by researchers within the university, but also by a wide range of researchers from outside the university, industry, and the local community.
Remote and smart shared-use environment for equipment
We are creating a remote environment for remote operation of the University's shared equipment and a smart lab environment that incorporates automation, and are building a usage environment for conducting research without being restricted by time or location.
Network administrators and shared equipment administrators work together to set various levels of remote and smart capabilities to match the practical configuration of shared equipment, such as automation of tasks, monitoring of operation status and image delivery, data analysis from remote locations, and automatic operation control, to promote the creation of a shared remote and smart environment for the equipment.
Equipment management and operation regardless of location or time

data provision in line with equipment operations
Development of technical information website and content
To provide comprehensive support for the use of shared equipment and technical consultation, we have established a portal site for shared equipment and technical services (Tohoku University Research Infrastructure Portal), and are promoting the development of a one-stop service infrastructure.
Through the above portal site, we provide information on shared equipment and technical assistance to industry, and we also identify the needs of industry and others as needed to promote the use of our equipment. By creating points of contact with industry, we aim to develop broad-based personal exchanges and joint research between industry and academia.
International support
In collaboration with the International Affairs Center (which assists foreign employees and their families), we are making public information multilingual and enhancing foreign language support at the technical information desk. In addition, we are strengthening other necessary support to ensure that foreign researchers can use the equipment without a hitch.
